Vallée du Rhône — The Rhone Valley (Vallée du Rhône) is a wine-growing region in the southeast of France located along the great Rhone River for 200 km — from Vienne to Avignon. It is divided into two parts — Southern and Northern Rhone.
The Northern Rhone has a continental climate. In Southern Rhone, the area of vineyards is much larger. The climate is Mediterranean. Rhone Valley — currently covers an area of about 75 thousand hectares. Which employs about 12,000 winegrowers in 26 appellations and produces here an average of 3.3 million heads of wine per year, of which 92% are red, 2% rosé and 6% white.
