Mosel
REGION
Mosel is one of the 13 and third largest wine regions in Germany. It took its name from the Moselle River. The region has a northern continental climate characterized by low temperatures. The soil of this area is prevailed by porous shale which has ideal drainage for a region with abundant rainfall and good heat-retaining properties. The Moselle region has six districts and 19 collective vineyards, as well as 524 individual vineyards. The wines are famous for low alcohol content in the range of 6−9% with intense fruity notes and high acidity.
