The Lombard Champagne House was originated in 1925 and combines the characteristics of both negociant and a recoltant. Today’s owners think that the structure and organization can undergo metamorphosis with the new generation, but traditional production methods and respect for heritage remain unbreakable.
The Lombard family can be singled out among other manufacturers by their approach to wine production: each cuvée is produced from a separate parcel or cru. All wines are produced from the Premier and Grand Cru areas, the Brut Nature or Extra Brut categories and according to winemakers only sugar-free wines are able to emphasize the authenticity of the terroir.
Soils, climate, relief and viticulture are the four parameters that determine the terroir. They are carefully monitored to determine the best techniques suitable for each individual area. The family owns 5.5 hectares of vineyards, predominantly Premier Cru, located in the western part of the Montagne de Reims.
In the cellar, the winemaker has 80 steel containers and 120 barrels of various sizes to underline the features of even the smallest, but special area.
