Henry Marionnet
BRAND OWNER
The third generation Domaine de la Charmoise the family property originated in 1921 by Kléber Marionnet. It is located in Soings in Loir et Cher, in the easternmost part of Touraine, 30 km south of Blois.

The vineyard was replanted and extended between 1967 and 1978 when Henri Marionnet came to control the winery.

In 1990, Henri Marionnais was one of the winemakers in France who started making sulfite-free wines using Gamay grapes to produce the "Première Vendange" cuvée.

It is also almost the only producer in France of the almost completely extinct grape variety — Gamay de Bouze which is a game with red juice and comes from Bouze-les-Beaune, a small village in Burgundy. Henri’s son, Jean-Sebastian who recently succeeded his father as manager of the estate brought his own eye to the Domaine de la Charmoise, expanding the experimental palette of grape varieties as Côte (Malbec) and Chenin Blanc.
Since 2015, they have been the curators of the Château de Chambord vineyards, where Pinot noir, Romorantin, Sauvignon blanc and Orbois are planted on 14 hectares. The first grape harvest was collected in 2018.
