Deovlet Wines is a grave and strong player in California wine market. In a couple of yeras, a recently founded economy has achieved results that winemakers have been achieving for centuries.
Ryan Devlet produces a wide spectrum of wines from international grape varieties, real stars — Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Camerin Sauvignon and also works with Pinot Grigio and Pinot Blanc, unexpected for Santa Barbara.
The vineyards of the family company Deovlet Wines are located in the Santa Rita Hills, in Happy Canyon in Santa Barbara and in the Edna River Valley in California. Before becoming a winemaker Ryan traveled lots and his biggest impression which encouraged him to engage in agricultural practices was visiting coffee plantations in Hawaii.
Ryan released his first retro in 2008. It was Pinot Noir from the vineyards of La Encantada. Today it is one of the most popular wines of the economy which is in the greatest requirement. The variety of terroirs in the five areas got for vineyards is striking: clay and shale rich in calcium, loamy and sandy soils, somewhere vineyards are closer to the ocean coast, somewhere the heights fluctuate. The names of the families that own the individual vineyards from which Ryan buys grapes are placed on the labels. Sanford and Zotovich are partners of Deovlet Wines.
We would like to pay your attention to the unusual pronunciation of the surname — Devlet, which somewhat does not correspond to the traditional transcription. This option is the only correct one. Antonio Galloni considers Ryan one of the most outstanding winemakers of the Central Coast, and calls the wines flawless and clean, fully reflecting the character of the vineyards. Robert Parker describes the line of wines as classic yet showcasing fruitiness and optimal freshness, personality and character.
