Bass Phillip Estate
BRAND OWNER
Bass Phillip Winery is named after George Bass and Arthur Phillip, men who devoted their lives to research the Victorian region in the 19th century. Bass Phillip Vineyards were planted in southeastern Australia in 1979. Jones is ardent about Bordeaux wines and originally sought to create wines in this style. But in the end, in the 1980s he was fond of the burgundy wines of such great masters as Charles Rousseau and Henri Jaye, which served as the planting of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines.

The first commercial version of the 1985 and 1989 Pinot Noir vintages took place in 1991. The wines were acclaimed by critics and professionals. Since April 2020, the famous Burgundian winemaker Jean-Marie Fourier from Gevrey Chambertin has joined the estate as a partner and oenologist.
