Montélie is a village (commune) in the Côtes de Beaune region. Spreads over about 130 hectares and includes 15 Premier Cru plots. In the records dated 855 AD in the archives of the Autun Cathedral appears as Monthelio. In the territory of the village which dates back to the Neolithic times and is located on the hill or mountain of Mont Oloye (which also indicates the etymology of the word), the remains of an observation camp have been preserved which is located near the east -west route through Burgundy.
